Sermon Text:Luke 23:1-56

 

Sermon Theme I Have Found in Him no Guilt

 

Series C

 

     Peace and Grace From our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be to all of you Amen !

 

23 Then the whole company of them arose and brought him before Pilate. ² And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”³ And Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” And he answered him, “You have said so.” ⁴ Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no guilt in this man.” 

 

 Jesus had taken the supper with his Disciples on the day of Passover, then was sold by Judas Iscariot, brought before the court and the Senadrin to accuse him.   regarding of his teachings and to forbidding the tribute to the Caesar, and claiming Him Self as a King, so people send it to Pilate to make sentence for Him,

And Pilate ask Him if He was the King of the Jews?  Jesus answer “you have said so” for the people and those of the Senadrin accused him of agitator and rebel and so they feared that the people who followed him would create a revolution against the Roman Empire.

So Pilate was found nothing to accuse Him and send it to Herod also to accuse Him, but both of them not found Guilt in Him, so Herod and the Soldiers treated Him with contempt and Mocked him, so then they arraying him in splendid clothing ant sent him back to Pilate.

So Pilate decided to punish Jesus and  release Him, but the people star crying out loud away this man and release to them Barrabas, because if was the custom to release some prisoner , so Pilate one more time, ask them to release Jesus, but the Crowd start shouting “crucifying, crucifying” 

So this things have to happened to Fulfill the Scriptures, Jesus Christ was no Guilt to be Crucified, the people don’t understand who Jesus Is, the Promised Messiah, the masters of the Law didn’t recognize him, as it is in this days, some many people didn’t recognize Jesus, other ones deny Him as a Lord, so what Happen? why Jesus Christ has to be Punished and Died the most horrible Death and Suffer that Penalty? An a Innocent Man, who has found no Guilt in Him, has to Suffer That painful death, only a criminal has to punished on that way, Pilate ask for the Third Time. “Why? What evil has he done? I have found in him no guilt deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him.” ²³ But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed. ²⁴ So Pilate decided that their demand should be granted. ²⁵ He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus over to their will.

You and I Shout whit a loud Voice to  Crucifying, Him, he make himself a Guilt,  because of our Guilt that’s why He became punished and died, because of us, he Deserve Nothing to be Punished, but because He Love us, He became a Guilt, for all of us, we are the ones who deserve to be Punished, but Jesus Christ Remain in Silence when he was Accuse, he kept Silent For you and For me, He Took that Punishment, because He Love us, and He became Guilt,  For our Transgressions, you and I Shout Crucifying, Crucifying, it was our Guilt who put him there on that Cross, he gave his life in exchange for Ours, for us to be able to have Eternal Life, and to be saved from that Guilt of the Sin,  he became a Sinner for all of us, and gave his Life, so that we do not have to suffer in eternal Death!!  He has to Carrier that Cross for all of us, He was bitten, he has to suffered whipped in His Body, Carrying that Heavy cross because our Guilt, we cannot see that Suffering carrying in the Cross, the Multitude Follow Jesus, to see His Crucifixion, same thing happen now so many people just see the crucifixion of Jesus as  is just as a reminder off this, is Not just A reminder, This Things Happen to Fulfil the Scriptures  of the Coming Messiah the Savior of the World, we need to understand that before we were enemies of God because of our Guilt, Jesus Christ Give His Life in Ramson for everyone Who Believed in Him, and Turn Back for Our Transgressions, he Carrying the Cross to the Place he has to Died, to the Golgotha name the Skull, place where the Criminals where Hang in the Cross and suffered death for His Guilt.

 

and there was two criminals, who were hang with Him, one on his right and one on his left. ³⁴ And Jesus seeing the Multitude and the ones who Crucifying him  said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”^[b] And they cast lots to divide his garments. ³⁵ And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!” ³⁶ The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine ³⁷ and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!” 

 

Jesus mercy Offer us Forgiveness, He ask to The Father to Forgive us, He has Give to us His Gifts Of Grace in the means of the Sacraments, Word, Baptism,  confession and absolution and the Lords Supper, Lord Supper,  He is the one Who became our advocate to God the Father, that Forgiveness, that He offer us is the most beautiful Gift he have in Him, if we Trust in Him as Our Lord and Savior, if we repent from our Sins and turn back from our guilt, He Forgive us,  he is interceding for all of us and even tough for the ones who was crucifying him, His Mercy is for all of us, certainly the ones who put him into death do not  know Him, Jesus was Praying to His Father for the Forgiveness, for our repentance, but Only God the Father Knows our Hearts, God The Father love us so much that He sent his Only Begotten Son to Died on The Cross for all of Us, for all our Guilt and Transgressions,  unfortunately we are like the Rulers and the Soldiers who Crucifying him, denying His gift of Salvation,  they said if You are the Christ save Your Self.

 

 

³⁹ One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him,^[d]saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” ⁴⁰ But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” ⁴² And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” ⁴³ And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Definitely the other criminal who was next to Jesus, blasphemed against Him, Saying are you not the Christ? Also, this testimony, once again reveals the sin that dwells in our human beings, denying the divinity of Jesus, questioning him if He is The Christ ? and his redemption to all humanity, he was certainly denying that Jesus is the Christ, as  the teachers of the law did and the senadrin,   That Affirmation  was made this criminal, Save yourself  and Save us, Certainly Jesus came to suffer for all of us in his Death on the Cross, and give his life to be able to save Ours, but the unbelief and our sins do not allow us see beyond of his plan of salvation for all the humanity, sin blinds us and condemns us, denying the most precious gift of the father through his Son Jesus Christ, for our Sins,  so we acted, like him rejecting that gift of salvation before we were  blinded by our evils, but let us thank God that as well as the other criminal who was next to Jesus, he realized that he deserved the Punishment of Death and Condemnation for his Transgressions, and was moved to repentance and Ask Jesus to remember him on the Day that he go to the Paradise in His Heavenly Kingdom,  and likewise Jesus  answered Him, you certainly, I assure you, that today you will be with me in Paradise, let us rejoice and give thanks to God the Father who loves us and has given his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to give his life on the Cross, to be able to give us eternal life in Paradise Together with Him, let us repent of Our Faults and ask Jesus Christ to always intercede for us,  as He has already Do for us,  that He forgive our Sins, and move us into repentance, so that Together we may Rejoice with Him in the Paradise, and may We Enjoy His Presence, Jesus Christ gave His Life for all of Us, we deserve that punishment of eternal Death, but He, did not spare his life in something to cling to, and remain silent before Whom They Judged Him,   and found not Guilty in Him,  Jesus has given us an eternal gift, that is His promise that anyone who believes in Him and repents will have eternal life, the death and resurrection of Jesus is now Ours through Faith in Him, who has come to the cross to fulfill the Law for us, since we are unable to do so by our sinful nature,  His love is so great for all of Us, that  endures forever He Interchanged His Life in the Cross for all of Us, because of His love, He lay down His life for Love, and He was buried. A Man Called. 

Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man, ⁵¹ who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God. ⁵² This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. ⁵³ Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud and laid him in a tomb cut in stone, where no one had ever yet been laid. ⁵⁴ It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning.^[g] 55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid. ⁵⁶ Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments.

On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment. Jesus Christ is also Our Sabbath day, He is our Rest, He was put in the tomb according to the custom and they rested, but Jesus gives us that Eternal Rest, which He has prepared for us, now We can rest in Him because He has forgiven us and we can have eternal life with Him, also Jesus, on the third day Risen from the Dead, and His death and resurrection is now an eternal gift of salvation and is ours through the Faith in Him, and our repentance, let us all   Together  Rest in Him and say to God be the Glory and honor and to Jesus Christ Our Lord and Eternal Rest Amen !!
